The Council of Educational Facility Planners International (CEFPI) has recognized the successful achievements and continual professional development efforts of Gregg Dorfner, Thom Worlledge, and Tommy Young, and has designated them as a Recognized Educational Facility Professionals (REFP)!


Current Projects:
McKinley & Associates continues to win major regional and state contracts. Recently, McKinley & Associates has been selected for some very special projects. These include the following:

Wood County Schools
Parkersburg High School, Parkersburg South High School, and Williamstown High School are the three schools in Wood County awaiting additions and renovations completed by McKinley & Associates.
Size: 557,000+ SF approx.
Cost: $63+ mil.

Marshall County Schools
Thirteen individual bond projects are underway involving both renovation and new construction. These include the Sherrard MIP, John Marshall MIP, and Washington Lands MIP projects.
Size: 13 School Projects
Cost: $38+ mil.

Fire Training Academy
West Virginia University

West Virginia University requested architectural & engineering services to create a new Fire Training Academy in Jackson's Mill, WV. This academy consists of a state-of-the-art training facility for students, including equipment storage areas as well as offices, classrooms & garage spaces for fire vehicles. This facility was recently dedicated this past summer.
Size: 40,000 SF approx.
Cost: $4.5 mil.

Colson Hall
West Virginia University

Recently completed the construction to Colson Hall on the downtown campus of West Virginia University. Work included architectural elements as well as major electrical and mechanical systems design. Project houses offices and classrooms in this historic facility.
Size: 34,000 SF approx.
Cost: $5.5 mil.

Maclin Hall
West Virginia University Institute of Technology

Recently completed construction for the renovations to Maclin Hall on the campus of West Virginia University / WV Institute of Technology in Montgomery, WV. The project budget for this facility was approximately $6 million dollars. Work included HVAC system, addition of sprinklers as well as interior upgrades.
Size: 40,500 SF approx.
Cost: $6 mil.

Petersburg Elementary
Grant County

New addition of classrooms and offices and will provide a pleasant environment for students as well as staff at Petersburg Elementary School. The structure measures approximately 26,000 SF and creates a friendly and safe atmosphere that is also aesthetically pleasing.
Size: 14,000 SF approx. in additions / 12,000 SF approx. in renovations.
Cost: $3.1 mil.

Wheeling Island Fire Station
The Wheeling Island Fire Station proved to be a very exciting and interesting project for McKinley & Associates. The Fire Station is occupied by the Wheeling Fire Department’s Engine Company No. 5.
Size: 8,000 SF approx.
Cost: $1.3 mil.

Braxton County Senior Center
Architectural and Engineering design for a senior citizen center in Gassaway, West Virginia. Included in the structure are the following: community spaces, dance floor, storage areas, kitchen, flex space, along with office spaces.
Size: 13,550 SF approx.
Cost: $2.8 million

Bennett Square
Construction has commenced on Bennett Square, which is a total renovation project of the old Ohio County Public Library Building in Wheeling, WV. Work includes architectural elements as well as major electrical and mechanical systems design. Finished project will house “Class A” office space in this historic facility.
Size: 22,000 SF approx.
Cost: $6.8 mil.

B&O Building
West Virginia Northern Community College

McKinley & Associates has vast experience completing building renovations such as the historic Wheeling - B&O Railroad Passenger Station Building that was purchased by Northern Community College. The goal of this building was to upgrade the old railroad station into a facility that could be used for academic research and education. This renovation was completed in multiple phases.
Size: 74,000 SF approx.
Cost: $1.8 mil.

Sisters of St. Joseph
Convent Renovation Project

Currently in the construction phase is the rehabilitation project of the Mount Saint Joseph’s Convent in Wheeling, WV.

Independent Living Senior Duplexes

Architectural and Engineering design for 30 Duplexes (60 total living units) in Wheeling, West Virginia. This is a new independent living community, which will include various amenities.
